Poivre Samarcande begins where cedarwood does, dry tibetan timber under blue sky drawing you in. Underneath the opening, pepper deepens into deep spice with resinous darkness, and oak answers as the weight of sun-darkened wood. Toward the top, green pepper reads as sunlit capsicum with bitter edges and musk as warm cotton holding a human trace. Worn, it reads dry and grounded — a woody, musky centre brightened by warm spice and green facets.
