Underneath the opening, clove deepens into the numbing warmth of eugenol, and pepper answers as sun-cured berries cracked over hot metal. A thread of incense runs across — charred resin and dusty spice — and musk follows as warm cotton holding a human trace. In the end it is warm and biting, a spicy, resinous core edged with soft musk and white florals.
