Cuir 2016 begins where saffron does, a medicinal hush over warm suede drawing you in. Below the surface, suede turns to pale leather with powdery warmth and leather answers as smooth grain rubbed with wax. Oud joins last, smoke and resin in lacquered darkness. In the end it is dark and supple, a leathery, woody centre brightened by warm spice.
