Tobacco by Franck Boclet unfolds slowly, cedarwood settling first as mountain cedar thinned by cold air. Deeper in, tonka bean unfolds as the soft bitterness of brown kernels against benzoin, brown gum smoking over warm wood. Ginger weaves in — the cool brightness of sliced rhizome — while clove settles as the numbing warmth of eugenol. It settles warm and biting, a spicy, sweet centre anchored by balsamic resins and dry woods.
